L605 is a cobalt base, austenitic super-alloy with high strength to 1500 degrees F, good oxidation resistance up to 2000 degrees F, and good formability. In addition, this alloy has good resistance to wear and galling. This alloy can be used in high temperature kilns, sections of aircraft (such as hot sections of jet engines and afterburners) as well as industrial furnace applications.
L605 is non-magnetic and has excellent corrosion resistance in the hot corrosive sections in jet engine applications.
L605 has a high chromium content and is therefore resistant to corrosion in a wide degree of applications such as hydrochloric acid and nitric acid.
