Descriptions of Tungsten Rod/Bar

Unalloyed tungsten bar is produced from pure tungsten powder, the purity is usually quite high, W≥99.95%. Pure tungsten could be worked by forging, drawing, extruding and rolling. Pure tungsten blanks, which are made from tungsten powder by powder metallurgy, are the raw products to process tungsten bars.

Advanced Refractory Metals (ARM) always uses its experience and expertise to provide the highest quality pure tungsten products. All rod products are over 99.95% pure tungsten, pressed, sintered, and swaged. These rods are designed to exceed ASTM F288 specifications. The manufacturing process is ISO 9001 and AS9100 certified. We offer tungsten rods and tungsten bars in wide dimensions. Various finishes, lengths, and diameters are available upon special request.

Applications of Tungsten Rod/Bar

Tungsten rods are widely used across industries for their unique properties. Common applications include:

  • Tungsten rods serve as thermal conductors in high-temperature environments.
  • Tungsten rods are used as welding electrodes for precision and durability.
  • Tungsten rods are essential headpieces in the quartz and glass industries.
  • are used as stirring bars for smelting processes.
  • are crafted into heavy hammers for industrial applications.
  • are used as fasteners in demanding conditions.
  • are applied in aerospace components requiring strength and heat resistance.
  • are ideal for making medical imaging devices.
  • Tungsten rods are employed in defense applications, such as armor-piercing rounds.

The forging process enhances the grain structure of tungsten rods, improving their rigidity and performance.

Packaging of Tungsten Rod/Bar

Our tungsten rods are clearly tagged and labeled externally to ensure efficient identification and quality control. Great care is taken to avoid any damage which might be caused during storage or transportation.
